You can find some fun Camp TOC GIFs to add to your Instagram stories by searching “camp toc” or “tails of connection” within the GIF section of Instagram stories.

+ NINE: Is Camp TOC a good fit for me?

Answer: Anyone can have fun with Camp TOC regardless of your experience level. Rather than creating a camp focused on one specific skill (e.g. “Teach the perfect heel”), we’ve created Camp TOC to tackle the some of the most important aspects of training:

  • Fun: Training should be delight for humans and dogs. Regardless of what you are learning or practicing, we want to show you why and how it can be fun.
  • Connection: At its core, training is a way to bond with your dog, so Camp TOC gives you a framework for some serious connecting! Because we think humans are great too, we’ve set up a community for Camp, so we can all learn and have fun together (while social distancing!).
  • Approachable: It’s easier to learn when information is presented in a more human way. We also know it can feel draining to constantly struggle to learn new things, so we provided a breadth of activity types from foundations to fancy tricks and offer ways to advance important behaviors you may already have done some work on (like recall). We hope that our five camp categories (sports, bonding, outdoor living, theater, and art) offer something for everyone.
  • Efficient: We know how busy you are, so we’ve organized the content in a way that allows you to easily pick and choose what you want to see.
  • Learning: We will show you how to teach your dog many different behaviors and explain why they are worth your time and how they benefit you in the real world. Through our community, campers will share their own training videos and ideas, so we will all get inspired and learn together.
  • Motivation and Accountability: For three weeks, we’ve got you covered. You don’t have to think or worry about what to do. Simply carve out five minutes each day, and we will help you cement a sustainable training routine that you can carry with you after camp.

+ TEN: What age dog is Camp TOC designed for?

Answer: Camp TOC is great for dogs of any age (including puppies) and experience level. If you are a beginner, you will learn a lot (and have access to revisit everything after camp ends to keep working and progressing). If you are intermediate, you will have access to a mix of foundation activities and new skills. As a reminder, Camp TOC is not single-topic course (e.g. “puppies 101” or “perfect leash walking”).

+ ELEVEN: What equipment do I need?

Answer: The vast majority of camp can be done without any additional products. We have tried to list anything you might want here. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at hello@tailsofconnection.com .

+ TWELVE: Where can I find/what is your refund policy?

Answer: We offer full refunds of the price of Camp TOC with no questions asked up to 14 days after your purchase. If you need a refund, please email hello@tailsofconnection.com with the subject line CAMP REFUND. Please note that some refunds will take up to 30 days to process depending on your payment method.

+ THIRTEEN: Once purchased, how do I access Camp TOC?

Answer: When you purchase Camp TOC, you will receive an email asking you to complete your registration. Simply log into the Camp TOC webpage to access the camp content.

+ FOURTEEN: What training methods are used in Camp TOC?

Answer: We will use positive reinforcement throughout Camp TOC (Camp TOC is all force free). We will use a range of reward types (food, play, functional rewards, attention) to tap into what motivates your dog.

+ FIFTEEN: Are you a professional trainer?

Answer: Yes, I am a certified professional dog trainer, knowledge assessed (CPDT-KA). I am also currently a Lead Trainer under Gwen Podulka, CPDT-KA and Dog Trained founder, who reviewed the training content in Camp TOC. I fell in love with training as a pet parent who was simply trying to help her fearful reactive dog, and I will forever be a student. I am excited to share the joy that I have found and to learn alongside all of you. You can read more about my story here.
